Story

Hi!

Thanks for supporting us in our running debut, we really appreciate any spare dollar you can send our way. Let's be honest who remembers the last two drinks you have anyway, spend your money on a better cause instead!

DMD Trust funds research into cures for Duchenne & Becker Muscular Dystrophy, the UK's second most common life-threatening inherited disease. This is such an important cause that needs to be more widely recognised, so we're not only aiming to raise £250 but also to raise awareness as much as possible.

Thanks again for visiting our page, more information on the disease and the charity can be seen below:

Duchenne muscular dystrophy is one of the more common, severe muscle-wasting conditions. It causes muscles to weaken and waste over time, leading to increasing disability. Duchenne muscular dystrophy is caused by genetic mutations on the ‘X’ chromosome. These mutations prevent the body from producing a vital muscle protein, dystrophin, which is needed to build and repair muscle.

Most people with Duchenne muscular dystrophy are diagnosed by the age of five and use a wheelchair by the time they are 12.
