Story
Hello, My name is Luke Asquith and I am a 21 year old student. My fundraising event will consist of walking 50 miles across 2 days as part of an organised event at work. I am hoping to raise as much money as possible for Rossendale Hospice.
On the 12th February 2015, I lost my wonderful and beautiful mother, Philippa Asquith, to a 2 year battle with cancer. She was amazing in every way, always putting others before herself, dedicating her whole life to her family and making sure me and my brother Bayley were brought up well. Not a day goes by where I don't think about my mum and every day for the rest of our lives my family and I will miss her. But I want to be able to give something back the nurses at Rossendale Hospice.
The nurses worked tirelessly throughout the difficult 2 years to ensure that my mum was kept as comfortable as possible. The work they do is fantastic, always at hand whenever we called and whenever my mum and the family needed assistance. Philippa wouldn't have lasted as long without their help and generosity. I am trying to raise money for Rossendale Hospice as a thankyou to them for looking after my mum so well.
The 50 mile walk will take place on the 9th-10th June and the route will be along the River Nidd in the Yorkshire Dales. 25 miles will be walked each day and I will be staying overnight at an Inn halfway along the route.
Any kind of donation would be hugely appreciated, big or small, it all counts towards my £200 goal.
Thankyou for taking the time to visit my page.
*UPDATE*
I severely underestimated the generosity of everyone with setting a £200 target. With £600 raised in less than 12 hours I have updated my target to £1000. It would be amazing if this can be achieved! Thanks again for all your support it really is appreciated.
*UPDATE TO THE UPDATE*
I have managed to smash the £1000 target to my dismay and with a week to go I have set a final target of £1700. If this can be achieved I will be astonished at the generosity so many of you have shown.
