Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page
Our family are running the Baxters Loch Ness 10K in memory of our wonderful Granny and Mum, Nancy MacDonald. The money raised will go to the Margaret Kerr Unit which is an in patient specialist palliative care unit at the Borders General Hospital in Melrose where Granny spent her final weeks. The staff were amazing and helped our family through this difficult time.
This palliative care project was kick-started by a £500,000 donation left to Borders General Hospital by former nurse, Margaret Kerr. The remaining funds were raised by a 18-month fund raising campaign alongside financial backing from Macmillan Cancer Support and The Robertson Trust.
NHS Borders funds the day to day running of The Margaret Kerr Unit however your donations pay for all the 'extras' that enhance the environment, and enable us to ensure that the unit is the best place that it can possibly be.
Granny is missed so much, she was always the life and soul of the party and it is so hard to believe that she is no longer with us, but we know she will be so proud of us running together as she was proud of everything we did.
Thank you for your donation from Andrew, Fraser & Scott Tough, Alastair, Vicky & Lynsey MacDonald, Melanie Hermiston and Mike Balfour xxx
