Alix, David, Jess, Craig, Wendy and Mark will be running the Liverpool Rock n Roll Half-Marathon on Sunday 29th May 2016 in Aid of The Astro Brain Tumour Fund.
This Charity is very close to our hearts as our cousin/niece Karan Waller was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2009 – since then Karan, Ian, Charly and Harriet’s lives have been turned upside down; having had to make numerous visits to the Walton Centre and undergone two major brain surgeries, the second one where she had to remain awake. Unfortunately the surgeries to remove the tumour have left Karan with side effects such as memory loss, concentration problems and tiredness and yet Karan continues to be an inspiration to others every day of her life; she is without a doubt one of the most courageous, brave and beautiful ladies you will ever meet and Ian is without a doubt her rock!
Ian asked us (under the influence of alcohol!) if we would do the half (as we only have 10 weeks to train) and we thought what the hell – if Ian and a group of others were doing the full marathon then doing the half should be a doddle!! Anyway how could we possibly say no. Ian and his friends have already raised a fantastic amount but they still need more!
