Matt would not have achieved the successful career he had without fully funded educational opportunities. He was very aware that there are many young people  today who are deterred from achieving their full potential because of financial hardship. It would be a fitting legacy of Matt's life if students could benefit from the fund and go on to a productive career, fulfilling their potential and making a positive contribution to science and the economy.
