Hi!

As some of you may know, this summer I'm off on a brilliant adventure to the Romanian mountains. 

I heard of this challenge through a role model of mine on Twitter and was drawn to it to explore some of the beautiful countryside in Europe I'd previously overlooked. 

After signing up to the event however I did some further research into the background of the charity the event supports and was shocked to realise the importance of this special ecosystem. "Europe used to be a totally forested, wild landmass. Today, 99% of the forest has been cut down and most of the large land animals have gone extinct.

Of the 1% of European forest remaining, half of it is in Romania. This precious ecosystem containing wolves, bears and lynx is now threatened with the same forces of destruction. TENT is working to save what is left of Europe’s last precious wilderness. The money you raise will be spent on campaigns to stop the destruction, education for Romanian children and initiatives to help local people make money whilst leaving the forest intact."

As I enjoy running, and strongly support the cause behind this event, I will be paying the majority of the fundraising target set by the event myself. If however, like me, want to support this cause, you can sign up to run too! (Kidding) Or just donate a pound or two to my page.
