Story

Race Against the Sunset

I have decided to cycle from Galway to Dublin to raise funds for Trócaire's Special Appeal for the communities affected by the drought in East Africa. From Ethiopia down to Malawi and Zimbabwe, millions of people have had their harvests decimated by the lack of rains caused by El Niño and exacerbated by the impacts of climate change. All of the countries affected have contributed little or nothing to cause climate change so it is unjust that they should suffer the worst consequences of this global threat. The funds raised will help provide assistance to those who need it the most and will permit families to get back on their feet. Many of you may not have heard much about the drought because thousands are not yet dying from hunger; this is because organisations like Trócaire are doing all they can to protect people's lives. Please donate what you can, thank you!
