Story
On Friday the 10th of October eight brave (read complete novice) cyclists and two support drivers will attempt the apparently uncharted route from Santander City (Banco Santander HQ) in Madrid to Santander on the northern coast of Spain. The route will cover a mere 560kms in 4 days, avoiding the flatter plains of Spain and heading for the mountains, climbing 18,500ft in the process.
With 4 of the eight riders having only just purchased bikes and training consisting of laps around the less mountainous territory of our various commutes we are facing a challenge like no other.
We wouldn't put ourselves through this pain if we didn't believe in the cause. NSPCC has rescued thousands of children from abuse and poverty and continues its great work to keep children safe, all through charitable donations from good people like you.
Across the UK NSPCC provides services such as 24-hour helplines and therapeutic centres - each one making a huge difference to less fortunate children.
But NSPCC needs your help and your money until every vulnerable child in the UK has the support they need.
Just £25 of the money raised enables a trained practitioner to provide one hour of support to some of the most vulnerable children in society.
Please help us make the pain worthwhile and donate as much as you can. We are aiming for £10k through JustGiving which Santander has kindly agreed to match. The £20k will really make a difference to a lot a children who need our help.
Thanks on behalf of NSPCC and Santander. We will provide you with regular updates, photos and videos so that you can revel in our pain.
