Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hi, our names are Mark and Margaret and we are the parents of two beautiful children. Our youngest, Harry, was born on the 10th June 2014, weighing a whopping 9lb 13oz. When he was around 10 weeks we started noticing that the back of his head was misshaped. Our GP advised us with certain measures to take, as did our health visitor. When no improvement was noticed we were referred to a pediatrician.  At six months he was diagnosed with plagiocephaly, which is basically a deformity in the shape of the baby's skull. There are varying degrees of severity, and in mild cases no treatment is necessary. Unfortunately, Harry's case has been deemed 'moderate to severe' as the bones are misaligned in the back of his skull. If left untreated, plagiocephaly, can potentially lead to facial deformities as the child grows older.

Harry requires helmet therapy which usually lasts  3-6 months, and costs  at least £2000. This treatment is not available on the NHS and there are no private clinics in Northern Ireland that provide this therapy. We are taking Harry to London on the 8th Jan to see a specialist.

We are not expecting everyone to donate; however, any donations would absolutely mean the world to us.

Love Mark, Margaret & family
