Story
In 2007 Mark started Room to Heal in a community garden in Islington. The first 5 members, refugees from Uganda, Kenya, Russia, Belarus and Iran, would sit round an open fire, drink tea and tell stories together. Fast forward to 2016, Room to Heal has become a thriving community, with a dedicated close-knit team of staff and volunteers, providing an innovative, deeply therapeutic space and safe haven to over 100 survivors of torture from 25 countries around the world.
