Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Thank you for visiting this page. I'm back in the saddle again this year to top up my page. On Sunday 4th September I'll be riding 40 miles from London to Windsor to help the Anaphylaxis Campaign get some much needed funds. Read on to find out why this is so close to my heart
On November 28th 2014 Alice Elizabeth Brooks, beautiful daughter of Suzanne Wilby, caring sister of Gemma and Amy, loving girlfriend of Michael Jeffries tragically passed from an anaphylactic reaction. Alice had suffered with asthma and allergies from an early age and was hospitalised several times. Despite this she lived a full and energetic live. Alice was a grafter and would travel into work everyday to her workplace, a cake shop called 'Sweet Things', near Primrose Hill in London. She was a very talented girl and her cake making skills were second to none. She would think nothing of giving up her time to make cakes for people. At a fundraising event for Harefield Hospital in 2013 she made over 300 cup cakes to raise money for their funds. The stall sold out, outselling all other cake stalls 3 to 1 and every customer praised and commented on how talented and gifted she was. That was Alice for you, kind, loving, caring and giving and always willing to help others. As yet we still do not know what Alice ate on that tragic day. Whatever it was that caused the reaction and stopped Alice from breathing her usual medication and the emergency EpiPen could not save her, nor could the ambulance crew or the team at St Thomas's Hospital despite their heroic efforts. All the monies raised by team AEB24 will go to The Anaphylaxis Campaign. If we can help save just one life or just make one more person more aware then we will feel we have achieved something. Please visit their website at anaphylaxis.org.uk and see what a great job they do in promoting awareness and helping people live with and manage their allergies. Just £25 helps to teach a child learn to use and administer an EpiPen in an emergency. Thousands of people suffer from asthma and allergies and for many the conditions are life threatening. Remember you always think it will not effect you. BUT TRUST ME SOMEDAY IT JUST MIGHT.
