Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Over the last couple of years my wife has become involved with the work of this charity . It started with sponsoring a child, and led to her visiting India last November.  She had an amazing life changing experience and has become more involved promoting the charity. On hearing her stories I wanted to do an event to raise some money to try to help to improve the lives of these people suffering with poverty, HIV and Leprosy.

The money raised will go towards the childrens schooling , funding of 2 teachers, because local schools do not accept children with HIV . This education is the key to breaking out of poverty and becoming independent. Money also goes towards sewing machines to make clothes so people can independently raised funds to live.

Leprosy is not something we  come across in the western world in this day and age. It is widespread in areas with acute poverty. Families with leprosy are outcast from society in India through a lack of understanding. The money donated can help with drugs to control the condition and provide help to make life as comfortable as possible in the colonies.

My passion  is running, if not very fast, so I thought something along those lines was right for me. I wanted to do something a bit different, so looked around and came up with the Equinox 24, which is set in the grounds of Belvoir castle, running for 24 hours . So I am setting up a team to do this.

I would be really grateful for your support , please give what you can to support this worthwhile cause, it is run by volunteers so 95% of money given goes to where it is most needed.
