Following a car crash in May 2010, one of my closest friends, Nicki, suffered a life changing brain injury. After nearly 2 years of being in hospital and various rehabilitation units (Queen's Square, Northwick Park and QEF Banstead) Nicki began to gradually rebuild her life. 

In 2012, Nicki started National Star College, where she was able to study Creative and Performing Arts, whilst also learning simple tasks that we would otherwise take for granted - such as remembering to look both ways when crossing the road. The work that National Star did to help Nicki become the independent and confident person she is today, as well as their invaluable work with people of all disabilities, is incredible. With your help, therefore, I hope to give back for the amazing help they have given my friend.
