I am doing Ironman UK in July 2016. This is, for me, the hardest thing I will ever
undertake. To that end I have decided that I would like to raise money for a
good cause. I have thought long and hard about it and this is my choice.

Meet  James Marsh. (Picture above). James is the third child of John and Nicole. He has an extra special chromosome which means he has Down’s Syndrome.  James had a heart condition at birth which is more common amongst babies with Down's. He had open heart surgery at 3 months and remarkably was home after only 4 days in hospital. J

Just recently, James was thrown his next challenge when he was diagnosed with ALL, a form of Leukaemia, which means he now has to undergo regular chemotherapy for 2 years. He has taken this challenge on and has been fighting his leukaemia whilst retaining his incredible determination and sense of humour. He was unable to walk for 5 weeks due to the leukaemia which cause pain in his bones, but is now walking again after several weeks of trying. This is an example of how James never gives up.

This is what James has. But this isn’t what James is. James is funny, intelligent,
determined, loving and happy (most of the time). He is a typical 2 year old who
loves running, horse riding, climbing anything in sight, bouncing on the
trampoline and eating chips and ice cream! His positivity is a reflection of
the support and encouragement he receives from his Mum and Dad, his older twin sisters and his new younger brother.

For me, James is already an Ironman.

I am raising money for two charities which help children like James. The first is Bloodwise charity (used to be known as leukaemia and lymphoma).  It's
important for children like James not only to find cures for these cancers, but
to find drugs that are less toxic than the ones currently needed for treatment.
The other charity that helps James is DSO (Down's Syndrome Oxford). They have
supported James since he was born with groups and classes to help his amazing
development.

Please help me to support these two wonderful charities, which in turn have given James so much support.

Thank You
