We improve early diagnosis and treatment to save more women's lives

Story

Thank you taking the time to visit our page in memory of Mum, raising money for Target Ovarian Cancer in her name.

We lost Sue/Mum on 30 Sept 11 after a relapse of the cancer she'd been diagnosed with in Jan 10. She had fought courageously but unfortunately this second time was too much and she passed away with us all around her only 4 weeks after diagnosis of it returning in her brain.

When diagnosed with ovarian cancer she was already stage 4; if it had been caught earlier she would be with us now & this is what Target Ovarian do, they raise awareness of the symptoms of this awful disease amongst women & GP's & are campaigning in parliament for better treatment. The symptoms are very similar to other less sinister illnesses & often it is too late by the time of diagnosis. 6500 women a year are diagnosed. 4400 pass away.

If we can raise £1,000 Mum will be 'remembered' by the charity and we, as a family, would be so pleased to know that we're doing something to help others on the anniversary of her passing away. The charity has personally been incredibly supportive to Lucy and I in the last year and we thank you so much for any contribution at all you can make.

With our love and thanks, Claire, Lucy & Martin xxx.
