We help bullied and traumatised children to give vulnerable children new confidence

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Turning 65 I realised that instead of receiving birthday gifts it would be a nicer idea to raise money for charity.

Singing in the Apollo Male choir, we recently did an event and helped raise money for Red Balloons.

Red Balloons aims to help the recovery of bullied children. They provide an 'intensive care' full-time education for children aged between 9 and 18 who are unable to go to school because they have been severely bullied or who have suffered trauma, such as the death of a parent, abuse, rape or some other experience that makes them particularly vulnerable. At least half of the students we take have attempted or seriously considered suicide.

They promise the students whom they accept a safe environment with clear boundaries for behaviour, and an individual full-time academic, pastoral and therapeutic programme. Once the students have regained their confidence and are able to cope academically and socially, they support them in their return to mainstream school, their entry to further education or to employment.

This is a very worthy charity that I am proud to be fundraising for, so please give generously.

Many thanks

Marvyn

About the charity

16,000 children in the UK are so badly bullied that they cannot go to school. The aim of Red Balloon is to aid their recovery by providing them with an 'intensive care' full-time academic and personal and social education programme so that they can return to mainstream school or go on to college.
