Story
HELLO!!!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am taking part in this year's London Marathon to raise fund for Actors' Children's Trust.
I've done this twice before....in 2010 which was a completely brilliant experience....and in 2011 when it was fantastic for 17 miles and then my knee collapsed and it turned into a very slow and painful walk around London. I'm hoping this year will be like 2010....
I'm a theatre director and I have worked - and become friends -with a lot of actors in an industry that for the vast majority is both unpredictable and financially insecure.
Financial hardship can hit us all at any time and Actors' Children's Trust is a charity that helps the children of actors with financial support, information and advice to those whose children have special needs, learning disabilities or long-term ill-health, up to the age of 21.
In my experience actors would do anything they could before considering approaching an organisation such as this for help...but I do know of some who have had some brilliant advice and support through very difficult times and this inspires me to take up the challenge of doing the London Marathon again.
Everyone deserves a safety net and I'd be really grateful if you could support me and Actors' Children's Trust so that a service like this can continue to provide support in the years to come.
Thanks
Matt xx
