We help architectural professionals to rebuild their lives - when in need.

Story

2016 is the Festival of Architecture, 100 years since the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS) was formed. As part of this celebration I'm joining with lots of other architects across Scotland to raise funds for the Architects Benevolent Society, my preferred method of suffering for this cause is the Edinburgh Marathon 2016.

In 2014 I was part of a group of Glasgow Architects who cycled from RIAS in Edinburgh to the RIBA in London. We raised £7,000 for the Architects Benevolent Society. Since then, we've seen that money go towards helping lots of people in all sorts of difficult situations.

Although I've run some pretty daft events previously, I haven't run a marathon for more than 10 years. In comparison to previous marathon efforts, I intend to train hard (500+ miles) and put in a good time.

Over 26 miles, my suffering is pretty much guaranteed, I'm aiming to raise at least £10 per mile! If you are prepared to support this prolonged pain, with a few quid, then it will be greatly appreciated by me, ABS and future recipients of ABS support.

If you want to see how my training is going, my logbook is online - https://www.strava.com/athletes/mbridgestock
