Story
My friends John Pritchard and Paddy Broughton are well underway in an attempt to row the length of the Mississippi in aid of Right to Play - a charity founded within the Olympic movement, of which John is Chairman. We've all competed at World/Olympic level in rowing for Great Britain, and for Cambridge in the University Boat race many, many years ago.
During October, I will join for some shifts, helping them through fatigue built up through the first 1,000 or so miles, rowing approximately 30 miles per day in a heavy and wide Victorian skiff.
Right To Play is an organization that believes every child has the right to play, and that play can change a child’s life. They transform ordinary games to extraordinary learning experiences, taking the best values of sport and play to give children access to learning opportunities and help them overcome poverty, conflict and disease.
The goal of the challenge is to raise $1,000,000 to help children in Right To Play programmes fulfil their potential.
For more information on our challenge visitwww.mississippimillion.com and for more on Right To Play please visit www.righttoplay.com.
Every donation will inspire John and Paddy and help me edge them towards completing this challenge...and change many children’s lives through sport and play!
Thank you for your support
