Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. As you may know my daughter Georgia  has a very rare genetic condition which means she faces on-going challenges both mentally and physically.

She is quite frankly an incredible, delightful and often hilarious daughter.  We have found a charity near us called Swings and Smiles which offers kids with special needs (and their parents) a place to play, relax, and have quality time together.

More information on the incredible work  Swings and Smiles do below.

It is for this amazing organisation that myself and 4 friends are attempting Man Vs Mountain, a race 22 miles up and around Snowden starting at sea level, climbing to the summit and back down -  with a number of obstacles/challenges along the way (leaping in lakes, abseiling off bridges etc....check out the link below... the inspiring promo video has much to answer for, good content marketing I'd say).

You may remember Ian , Mat and myself swam the 5 miles across the Solent to raise money a couple of years ago - well that was a breeze in comparison to this one. It's going to be a massive challenge to complete - possibly made more likely by the promise of free beer at the finish.

If you would like to sponsor us in this ridiculous challenge then please do - as I say it's an absolutely fantastic charity and continues to make a real difference to the lives of many families.

Big thanks from us all.

Matt

Most families take recreational play for granted. For families of children with special needs, this is impossible for some and extremely difficult for most. The aim of Swings and Smiles is to provide a fun and safe facility where children can enjoy play appropriate to their needs and abilities.
