Maurice had a keen love of sailing and was never one to shy away from an ambitious project! Put the two together and we thought the Sea Cadets' project to build a new flagship was very appropriate, and a cause Maurice would surely have whole-heartedly approved of. During his lifetime Maurice had built boats of his own and was heavily involved with building a replica of Peter the Great's tallship, Shtandart, in St Petersburg. What better way to remember him than by encouraging the next generation to take to the high seas? Thank you.
