Story
Hello, my name is Megan Gallen. I am 16 years old.
I have decided to shave my long hair off in April because I know a few teenagers and younger children who have had cancer, and they have lost their hair through chemotherapy treatments. I am donating my hair to be made into a 'real hair wig' for children that have lost their hair.
When my mum asked me if I really wanted to do this, I told her... "Mum, this is my choice.. My hair will grow back, Some people don't have that"
The reason I have decided to fundraise for CCLASP is that they supported a family that is very close to me since the diagnosis of Adam (5 years old) in April 2008. The mum, I call my second mum, the boys, I call my brothers, and the dad.... I call a wind-up merchant! (but I love you really Spike! Ha!) CCLASP have continued to support them after Adams passing in November 2008.
CCLASP are in constant need of funds to be able to continue their valuable support . From picking up patients at their homes, and taking them to hospital appointments, to maintaining their respite cottage in Perth, which 'my wee brother' Adam opened. This offered the family (and offers other families) some valuable family time - away from the ins and outs of hospital life. This is only a few examples of where their much needed funds go.
I've set a target of £1000. I would REALLY , REALLY appreciate any donation that you can afford, and I know that CCLASP would appreciate it too.
Well, after just 3 days, I've hit my target of £1000, so I've set a new target of £1500. Thank you very very much.
After one week, I've reached my second self imposed target of £1500. I've reset my new target at £2000 - Thank you ALL very very much. Please continue to share my page and help raise much needed funds for this wonderful charity.
Thank you in advance for your generosity.
Megan Gallen
