Story
Many of you know that Nik and I will be visiting the Mercy Rescue Trust in Kenya in November.
The Mercy Rescue Trust is a 25 bed baby rescue center based in Kitale. The Trust rescue babies and young children that have been abandoned or abused, nursing them back to health in a small and loving home, before seeking to foster or adopt them into Kenyan families. The Trust is a small charity, deliberately focused on providing a loving home to a small number of children, in order to guarantee the highest level of care they can.
Our fundraising is twofold. Firstly when the trust moves to its new home in early 2016 they will be setting up an in-house school room for pre-school aged children. We would like to collect second hand items for the pre-school (numeracy, phonics and other play based learning items) and we would like to raise money to buy any additional new items they need. When we visit in November the older children at the trust will be on their half term school holidays and we would like to raise enough money to take them on an educational (and fun) visit to either lake Naivasha or Nakuru where they can see the diverse wildlife, learn about the Great Rift Valley formation, lakes and volcanic activity.
Nik and I have paid for our own flights and will be staying on site at the Trust so every penny you donate will go directly to the trust and the care of the children there,
Please consider making a donation either via our Justgiving page www.justgiving.com/MercyRescueTrustKenya/ or you can give a cash donation to either of us.
We would also like to invite you to come along to a coffee morning & bake and produce sale in aid of the Mercy Rescue Trust we will be holding two and you are welcome to come along to either or even better you can come to both. Friends and children are welcome, the more the merrier! Drop in when you can and stay for as long as you like. Our two coffee mornings are:

Friday 23rd October 2016 9.00-12.00 at Nik’s house, 18 Bellamy Road, Oundle
