We're dreaming of a Merry Mercy Christmas...

 

For many, false lies and haunting memories have stolen the love, peace and joy that are wrapped up in the true meaning of Christmas.

 

Mercy Ministries UK exists to see lives transformed and hope restored. We want to make a way for the gift of hope to be unwrapped this Christmas in the provision of a bed for a desperate young woman searching for the love that only God can provide.

 

Hannah was that young woman in 2008,

“December 2008 is a Christmas I can never forget. White snow glistened on the paddock ground, with hope & excitement thick in the air. The sound of whispers travelled across the corridors with the repeated question ‘Is it too early to get up now?’ as the smell of turkey roasting in the oven filled the house. Peeling back the bedroom door as to not make a creak a bag of gifts lay at each room, anticipation overflowing whilst the screams of ‘Wake Up!’ echoed in unison.

 

This fairytale was in fact the reality of a Christmas we had never experienced before, where love without a price or condition was showered on us and where the hope of a new beginning & future ignited. This Christmas was spent at Mercy Ministries UK and this was my story.

 

To this day I can still remember the unconditional love I was shown that Christmas, not only by the staff & residents but also by the unknown faces of the givers who so faithfully gave.

 

Now four years on I’m looking forward to spending the 1 of many Christmases married and in my new home and I know that all started from the seed which was sown during Christmas 2008!
