Story

I will be running the Mourne Way Marathon in Northern Ireland in memory of David Bankart. David had a passion for adventure, and had himself run the London Marathon twice.

On February 17th 2016, David was ice climbing in Scotland when an avalanche hit. Devastatingly, he didn't survive.

The Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team found David and made sure he got to a hospital as quickly as possible. This is a team of brave volunteers who assist in remote incidents day and night, 365 days a year, in all weather conditions. Equipment used in rescues often needs replacing for safety reasons, and regular training is required so the volunteers are as able to respond to incidents as possible. Running costs for this crucial organisation are high, and they need support.

Please donate so they can continue to provide critical rescue services to lost or injured mountaineers like David.
