Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.

I first led up a horse at the historic Newmarket Racecourse as a young lad, in 1963, I saw the running of The Town Plate, the worlds oldest consecutively run race, it has taken me 53 years to be involved!

2016 is a special year for Newmarket and the Race itself, being the 350 anniversary of the Racecourse and the founder King Charles 11. To commemorate King Charles and his massive enthusiasm for Newmarket, which  would not be the very significant place that it is today "The Home of Horseracing"! I am hoping to help raise money for the National Heritage Centre at Newmarket  and the commemorative statue of King Charles to be unveiled at Newmarket Racecourse on 7th July 2016. Funded by donations.

If you have an interest in Horseracing and think it a worthy cause please help me raise some much needed funds, to preserve the history of our historic sport. SUPPORT THE NEW HERITAGE CENTRE> .

In 2016, Palace House, the last remaining element of Charles II’s Newmarket palace, will open its doors to the public as the new National Heritage Centre for Horseracing and Sporting Art. Building work started in 2014 — development is well underway and the site is due to be opened in 2016.
