I will be running in the Cardiff Half Marathon for the first time with the running club Orange Army (powered by Team Rees), as a challenge and opportunity to raise money for a local charity that is dedicated to supporting head and neck cancer patients in South East Wales.

Faceup Cymru is a small local South East Wales charity who helps to support head and neck cancer patients who have been through gruelling treatment for their cancer. It does this by holding regular support groups at University Hospital of Wales, run by local health professionals, which allow patients to feel comfortable in a supportive environment and with people who have been through the same experiences as themselves.

It has a strong theme of getting back to as normal a life as possible, and also focusses on diet, oral care, swallow and exercise, as well as things not related to their cancer that they are interested in. The money raised will go towards helping new patients throughout their cancer journey, by giving them additional support, helping to fund milkshake rounds on the wards, communication aids and new equipment for the patients.It is a very worthwhile charity and one that is extremely grateful for your support.... thank you so much.
