Story
On Sunday 12th May I am running 10k and the reason for this is.....
A very good friend of mine Nicky Gale lost her husband, Paul Gale, suddenly last year. Paul very sadly left his 2 sons behind Ben age 6 (5 at the time) and Harry age 2 (1 at the time).
Simon Says is a local charity which offers huge support to Nicky and the boys. They hold monthly meetings where Nicky is able to meet other parents who have been through similar experiences to her and the boys are able to play with other children who have also lost a parent......for Ben it means so much knowing that he is not the only child without his daddy.
Simon Says holds regular events througout the year such as summer BBQs, days out, football tournaments and Christmas parties.
Nothing will bring back the boys daddy but small things really help like knowing that they are not alone and that other children are going through this grief too.
The support and advice Simon Says offer to families dealing with a child's bereavement in Hampshire is provided completely free. They need to raise a minimum of £85,000 per year, to enable them to maintain and develop this service.
