Story
Having met many of Mike's friends over the last 14 months and since we shared the devastating news of his passing, we have been overwhelmed by your messages of love and support.
Mike was a funny, generous and caring man , full of life and always ready for the next adventure. He really lived all of his 57 years and encouraged others to do the same . Quick with the one liners and quick to laugh with others , our memories of his exploits will keep us smiling for years to come.
Instead of flowers and in keeping with Mike's nature to think of others, we have decided to set up this Just Giving page.
Caring for Mike over the last 14 months has highlighted to us that kidney disease can strike at any age.
It can be a frightening and confusing time, coming to terms with the diagnosis and what it means and the advice received can be varied and contradictory.
This is where the National Kidney Federation comes in. It is unique in that it is run by kidney patients for kidney patients.
Their website gives patients real information about their condition, puts patients in touch with each other and gives kidney consultants, doctors and nurses a chance to talk with each other and with patients about issues and concerns.
Whatever you can contribute will be a fantastic boost for this worthwhile charity and a wonderful way to remember Mike.
