Story
Mishcon de Reya have been supporting two schools as part of the Lewa Education Programme since 2010. This year we have taken on our biggest challenge to date, to raise £42,000 in twelve months to build a new girls' dormitory for the Ngare Ndare Secondary School.
Please help us reach our target by supporting our team - Clare Freshwater, Michael Lynch, Eleanor Powell, Matthew Seddon, Rebecca Wickham, Tom Wright and Katy Walsh who will be running* the Royal Parks 1/2 Marathon this October. *(attempting to run)
Training is starting early for Team Mishcon who are a staring down the barrel of 6 long summer months pounding the relentless roads of London. More likely to be seen in the pub than in running gear, they are all going to miss (on occasion) Friday Pimms sessions and that boozy Sunday Lunch in order to be ready (relatively) for the 9 October and the Royal Parks ½ Marathon.
Rest assured this is not a 10k fun run – at 21.09km; 13.1 miles (or 21082 meters if you are counting) a half marathon is not for the faint-hearted. So please give generously - not only is it a great cause to build a new girls' dormitory, but it is worth giving lots to spur on our team through sweat, tears, and some likely (probably quite nasty) chafing on their way to the start (and finish) line.
As a sign of their commitment, each runner is donating £50 and, of course, attempting to finish the race. Any sum would be welcome. 91.7 miles (13.1 x 7 people) is to be completed [endured/suffered] by Team Mishcon – we did not want to entertain how much total liquid will be lost (sweat and tears). Accordingly, a suitably generous donation would be very much appreciated by Team Mishcon, as a motivation to finish, and welcomed by Lewa, whose work is so important.
Please give generously!
