Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have opened this page to make donations to the Samaritans charity in memory of a dear friend. Colin was someone who always made that extra effort & went that extra mile to help or be with a friend. He was there with me through many great and sometimes dark times, he went to ridiculous lengths to travel to be with me for my 40th birthday and then he bought me ridiculous presents which I have treasured and kept.
He was incredibly intelligent, well-read, quirky, mad about music, uber talented and uber bright and the best fun you could have with a mate on a night or weekend or however much time you had off. He was funny, off beam and one of the best people I have ever had the honour of being a friend to. We always said that we were born in the same litter and if you understand that, then you understand how deep our friendship was.
If you knew Colin in any way - or even if you didn't - you will know why this charity is so important to his family, to me and to the many friends he has left behind. If you can afford it, please give a little something to The Samaritans in remembrance of him so that they can continue offering their love and support to those who need it the most. I have chosen Lewisham and Greenwich Samaritans because one of our most memorable mad outings was a summer pilgrimage, picnic, backpacks, blankets and all, to The Royal Observatory in Greenwich, just to stand on the meridian line to see if we could make time stand as still as we were.
Rest in Peace Lentil. Maybe we didn't succeed in making time stand still then - but know that the moment I found out you had left us, it worked. You stopped all the clocks. You will always be loved and missed not least by me.
