Story
We are team Mission Max: Gary, Rob, John & Kim. Four thirtysomethings with varying levels of fitness, but maximum determination to complete the 13.1 miles and raise money in memory of our friend and a charity he was particularly close to.
Max Griffiths. A truly special man who was – and still is – inspirational.
Max embodied determination and fighting spirit. He lived life on his terms and never wavered for anyone. At one stage of his life, he lived the rock and roll dream - even giving Lemmy a run for his money! Later in his life, he embraced spiritualism – giving healing and hope to others.
We each know Max in different ways, but all of us are honoured to run in his name. We're complete marathon virgins & mostly unfit, but Max kicked C.F in the ass to climb a mountain so we can definitely do this!
The Cystic Fibrosis Comfort Fund is a small Bristol based charity, independent of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, which aims to help those who suffer from Cystic Fibrosis to enhance their quality of life through supporting them in managing their daily lives.
We want to honour Max's memory by raising whatever we can to support this fantastic charity so that they can continue to help the CF sufferers of Bristol and their families.
Thank you for your support! x
