Since I was young I have wanted to volunteer abroad for a long period of time, completely living and working in a culture very different to my own.The ideal time I decided to do this was just after I finished college before attending university.

I am going away with ICYE-UK, an international volunteering charity which works with volunteers aiming to place them in a programme which allows them to make a positive impact on the community they are a part of.

During my gap year in Costa Rica, I will be working in a privately funded animal rescue center called La Marina Wildlife Rescue center, where animals are nursed back to their full health and released back into their natural habitat. I will be living in a house with a host family and spend my day to day life completely immersed in a culture very different to my own.

I need to raise £4395.00 to cover the cost of flights, accommodation and training before I go and I have lots of different ideas on how to reach this target.
