We provide intensive physiotherapy to help to disabled children reach their potential

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit Mollys JustGiving page.  Many of you will know the story of Molly having a stroke when she was 6 years old...

Well, three and a half years on, Molly is still wheelchair bound, although she is determined to walk again.  The neurologists and physiotherapists tell us there is no reason why she should not walk again, it will just take time and effort..

The NHS has seen fit to reduce Molly's physio input to just one hour every 2 weeks.. So, we have booked Molly into The Footsteps Centre in Oxford for three intensive courses of specialist physiotherapy in 2013, and another three in 2014. They focus on helping children like Molly to walk again.  Each course lasts 3 weeks and she has 3 hours of physio each day.  We are hoping that this intense input gives Molly the push she needs to get back on her feet. At the end of her first three-week course in January, Molly was able to take 19 steps by herself!!

On the 7th July, two weeks in to Mollys second session at Footsteps, we are holding a family fun day on the recreation ground in Offord Darcy.  There will be lots of fun things to do, but the most challenging event will be a HALF MILE UNASSISTED sponsored walk by Molly. This means that she will have help to steady herself and get her balance, and then she will be let go of, and will take as many steps as she can before wobbling.  She will then be helped to regain her balance before setting off again.  Molly will take EVERY step without support.  If you would like to support Molly by making a donation to this page that would be amazing!

We also have a raffle on the day - first prize is a fortnights accommodation for up to 6 people in a house 5 miles from Disneyland, Florida! Second prize is a Kindle HD, and we have lots more fab prizes!  Tickets cost £1 each and are collated in books of 5.  If you would like to buy some tickets, you can do so by making a donation to this page. Please put your name and phone number in the comments box when you make a donation and we will complete the ticket stubs for you. The draw will take place at 4pm on Sunday 7th.

Any donations made to this page will be sent to the Footsteps Centre and ring fenced to pay for Molly's sessions.  Any gift aid raised through this page will contribute towards Footsteps Foundation’s general pot, supporting those families who would otherwise struggle to access the Footsteps Centre.

£50 will buy one footstep - equivalent to one hours physiotherapy.

£150 will pay for one days session.

£750 will pay for Molly to attend a full week's programme.

£2250 will cover Mollys three-week course of 3 hours of physiotherapy each day.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
