The Footsteps charity's main aim is to give the children of Kenya the opportunity to reach their potential as individuals. One of the many ways they do this is through an annual voluntary Rafiki programme, the word rafiki means 'friend' in Swahili.

This summer we are travelling to Kisumu, Kenya, to take part in the 2015 Footsteps Rafiki programme. We will work with other volunteers to broaden the experience of the children we meet by introducing them to sports and arts. This will also help them to expand their understanding of the wider community and meet new people. The funds that we raise will go towards a project of our choice at one of the schools that we visit. In the past the charity has built many schools, nurseries, dormitories and a health centre. These are just examples of what the money we raise can go towards and how great of an impact it can have on the local community.
