Story

The PCC decided, earlier this year to place a memorial in church to PC Nicola Hughes and PC Fiona Bone, who were killed on 18 September 2012, in Abbey Gardens, Mottram.

Our appeal for funds has been successful and the faculty has been granted, so the memorial, close to our Parish War Memorial and made from matching stone, will be installed in time for the first anniversary.

Thank You! You raised more than the cost of the memorial – over £1000 – and we will give any money left over to a charity nominated by the families.

The Dedication Service will be on Sunday 22nd September during our 10.30 service, in the presence of members of the local police. We hope you will come along and join with us as we remember the sacrifices made by members of the police force as well as our armed forces, in the course of their everyday duties.
