Keep up to date with photo's from the challenge: walking-for-dad
This page has been set up to raise funds for St. John's Hospice in Lancaster, in memory of my father, Chris Trueman, who lost his fight with cancer on 22nd November 2011, aged 62. The staff at the hospice were so incredibly kind to my family as we went through those two difficult weeks, and I know I will never be able to repay all that they gave my father, my family and me. Through this challenge, I hope to be able to contribute something back to the people that were there for us, and help to ensure they can remain there to help others.
My father loved the outdoors. I have very fond memories of accompanying him on camping trips and long hikes through the mountains of the Lake District. These experiences have always fuelled my love for the wilder parts of the world, and so now in is memory, I am taking up a challenge to raise funds for the hospice.
Over the next 14 months, I will be climbing a select group of Scottish Munro's as training for tackling Africa's Killimanjaro.
Please sponsor me through this challenge, and help to provide support for an institution that is much loved and much needed.
You can keep up with my progress via a photoblog I have set up for the challenge. You can visit the page at walking-for-dad.tumblr.com and I'll be updating the site with photos from my adventures.
