Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We're a bunch of couch potatoes who are going to get fit and raise money for a couple of really worth while causes too. On Sunday 8th July this bunch of exercise shy members of our Business Test Team will be running (yes running) 5 miles across Cannock Chase. The proceeds will be split between the company charity 'Teenage Cancer Trust' (see the Muppet's Micro Marathon team page for more info) and a charity close to my own heart, 'HeartLine' who provide online forums, advice, books, information, wetsuits to allow children with heart conditions to enjoy swimming without suffering from circulation problems or at least taking a little longer than without a wetsuit to turn blue in the water, subsidised caravan holidays, reduced price MedicAlert membership for children with pacemakers, on particular meds, etc and much more to people who are affected by children's heart conditions.
Nic's son was diagnosed with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) at 20 months old and had Open Heart Surgery in November 2011. As a result of complete heart block following his surgery he now has a pacemaker fitted. He faces further surgery in the future as a result of the pacemaker and open heart surgery due to the fact that his heart will never be 'normal'.
