Story
When London based South African rugby player Paul Barker lost his leg due to a rugby related accident combined with a rare form of cancer his friends decided that didn’t mean the end of them playing rugby together. Inspired by the Guinness wheelchair advert and supported by the Leicester and London Wheelchair rugby clubs and The Matt Hampson Foundation; Paul's friends in rugby have created a wheelchair rugby tournament for companies and clubs and a blacktie dinner that brings rugby union and wheelchair rugby together. The funds raised will support Paul to get new left peg and will support the Leicester and London wheelchair rugby teams.
During the day on April 24th companies will put forward teams who will learn to play wheel chair rugby and compete in a tournament all in the same day in what should be the ultimate team building day. The tournament will be followed by the Murder Ball, a black tie dinner dance with special guests, Chris Robshaw (England and Quins Rugby Captain), David Weir (Paralympian Gold Medal Winner), Jo Marler (England and Quins Rugby), Matt Hampson (Founder of The Matt Hampson Foundation) with special guests Laura Wright (Classical Singer) and our MC for the evening will be BBC's John Inverdale. The dinner will be for tables of ten people and will be held at Twickenham Stadium.
This page has been created for those people who are unable to attend but would like to make a donation to support Paul and the Leicester and London Wheelchair Rugby teams.
