Story
I would love to have a majorly inspiring story/reason for entering these runs but I don't. All I can say is every now and then I think it would be 'fun' to try and do something I hate, just to make life that bit more interesting. Apparently doing something outside of your comfort zone is good for personal development and growth as a human being etc etc. So I'm trying out running. Which I have learnt is horrendous. Great.
So now I'm stuck with not just running in one race but three. All 10K. Which is approximately 8k more than I have ever run before (in one go, because I haven't trained, at all). One of these will be in a dress as part of my punishment for making Jo run a marathon for Family Lives (many thanks to those that sponsored her).
Sooooo, it would be really great if you could sponsor me (especially those people I have sponsored for various events in the past, we both know who you are). It's important I hit my target for two reasons. One, I work for Family Lives so if I don't hit the target then I kind of look like a bit of a dick. And two (most importantly) Family Lives are a charity that really do make a difference to so many families across the country.
So far I am registered for the following - as I hit my £400 target before the beginning of July I'm now entered into Great North Run. Scared!
30th May - Vitality 10k
10th July - British 10k in a dress
17th July - Great Newham Run
11th September - Great North Run
