Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

NCG (Nantwich Cycling Group) is a Cheshire based cycling group, run by its members at all levels from beginners, sportive enthusiast or even racers.

Last year we did the extremely successful Charity ride from Nantwich to London and raised over £5000 for Leighton Hospital in the process, for 2016 we are riding back.

This year some of our members old and new are doing it again but in reverse, an epic 220 miles in one day!! Starting in London at 4am the route will take us past some iconic London landmarks before heading out through Windsor, Henley on Thames, Oxford and the Cotswolds, before heading home, we hope to make it back to Nantwich around 9.30pm.

We are taking on this challenging ride this year in aid of The Wingate Special Children’s Trust which is a local independent charity devoted to enriching the lives of children and young people with all levels of physical and learning disabilities or who are disadvantaged and which is based at the Wingate Centre, Wrenbury, Nantwich, Cheshire.
Established in 1988 by parents of children with a range of disabilities who had learned to appreciate the benefits of gymnastics for their children, the Trust has evolved into a national centre attracting special needs schools, voluntary organisations and self help groups from all over the country as well as local groups catering for the needs of disabled people.

To maintain the Centre and to subsidise their student’s activities, they have to raise £300,000 each year. They are able to generate some of this through training fees and hire charges, but the remainder is found from their own fund raising activities and the generous support of trusts, companies, local businesses, voluntary organisations and individuals.
