We support The Howard League for Penal Reform as they are an independent charity who campaign for less crime, safer communities and fewer people in prison. Too much money is spent on a penal system which doesn’t work, doesn’t make our communities safer and fails to reduce offending.

The Howard League provide free, independent and confidential advice, assistance and representation on a wide range of issues to young people aged under 21, who are in prisons or secure children's homes and centres.

We have chosen to support this charity, as both Helen and Natalie work within the criminal justice field, and are passionate about penal reform. We believe that consistent support, positive relationships and fewer people in prison, will increase rehabilitation and create safer communities. We have first hand experience of how The Howard League have directly supported many of the young people we have worked with in custody, and they also know they campaign for many wider issues including children being in prison, the use of custodial sentences and suicide and self-harm in prison.
