Story

As many of you are aware my cousin Rachael passed away on the 8th December 2013, aged just 15.

When born she was diagnosed with the conditon Hydrocephalus, which translates to water on the brain. At two weeks old she had an operation to fit a metal shunt into her head. A few years later she was then diagnosed with Cerbal Palsy which then lead on to many other conditions. She had serveral operations during her life, but throughout it all she was able to lead a happy life, greatly helped by the two schools she attended.

Rachael attended Riverside School in Orpington for 9 years of her life, and had many great friends there. When my Aunt & Uncle moved house, Rachael then attended Woodlands Meed, in Haywards Heath and spent two wonderful years there. When speaking to many of Rachael's teachers, especially Rachael's Teaching Assistant, it became clear to me how their work with Rachael really gave her the chance to lead a happy life.

Throughout the month of January my Dad & I,Brian King will be raising money for these two schools, to try and give something back to them. We will be doing this by completing the 2014 Dryathalon, for those whom do not know what this is, it means we cannot touch a drop of alcohol for the whole of January. For those of you who know us, you will know I am partial to a glass of wine & my dad vodka!

I dont usually like asking for money but on this occasion I am making the exception!

Please help us to raise money for these schools by donating any amount you can! As they say...

'Every little helps!'
