Story
This is one of the most emotional things I have had to write. In August last year, very sadly my daughter and her group of friends got a phone call that no friend or family should receive, that there 21 year old friend had passed away. As i watched them all say goodbye to him at the hospital, it was one of the saddest moments I have experienced. Matthew was a beautiful person inside and out and is missed more and more everyday.
Matthew sadly suffered of epilepsy, which ultimately led to his death. My daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy as a child, my brother and her dad's brother both suffer with it too. Lauren has been lucky enough to have grown out of it but there are so many people that still suffer.
Since Matthew passing there isn't a day I haven't thought about him & his family, which has inspired me to do 2 marathons in 2 weeks, Manchester Marathon on the 10th April & London Marathon on 24th April. London will be my last road marathon as I have buggered up my legs but whats a knee or hip compared to what Matthews family and my daughter and her friends have gone through.
Funds are being raised to build a pavilion in memory of Matthew at the cricket club he played for a place where his family and friends can visit and remember him.
Any donation helps!
I can put my hand on my heart and say when I put on my running vest, I will be proud to have Matthews smiling face with me all the way.
Thank you in advance!
