Story

As you may have heard i was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma on 2nd August 2013 and as such have started 6 months of Chemotherapy. As a side effect of this treatment i am loosing my hair and rather than just let it  fall out in clumps and look and feel bad, i have decided that it's just better to shave it all of, Jessie J style, and do it for charity!!

Therefore, i am so grateful that you lovely people have taken the time to visit my page with a view to helping me raise money so that i can give something back to the amazing centre that are treating me.

Last weekend i had to go into hospital following my second treatment, as i became Neutropenic (very low immunity, therefore very seceptible to infection) where i was put into isolation which was, well . . . frankly a bit depressing, until i was found a bed on the Heamotology Ward in the Beacon Centre.

Due to the work that others have done in the past, i didn't have to pay to watch TV (which would have otherwise cost me at least £30 anywhere else in the hospital), they had cans of drink rather than just water, tea and coffee and toasted sandwiches etc rather than hideous hospital food, which caters for the more fussy palette that one develops whilst suffering with nausea and sickness etc etc. All of which seem like small things but actually they make a big difference when you're in there feeling like poo.

The above are just some of the smaller things but the money that we raisewill also fund more fundamental things such as specialist staff, medicine, research, technology and equipment, like the Mobile Chemotharapy Unit that the centre are currently raising for.

Obviously all of these things cost additional money which the NHS will not/cannot fund and have been afforded through external fund raising. With all of this in mind, I would like to take this opportunity to "Pay it Forward" and help provide facilities for others in the future, as people have done for me in the past.

Thank you again for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and for your love and support in helping me achieve my goal.
