Story
Neil Douglas Castle was first diagnosed with a grade 4 brain tumour on 4th June 2008 just a few days after Rory was born, Neil was given a bleak outlook at the time and we were told there was no hope. Two brain surgeries later and one operation to move an infected bone flap in his skull Neil actually defied the odds and was to live nearly 7.5 years, almost unheard of with this disease.
Neils ambition was to walk Rory to school and this he did for over two years as well as cycling hundreds of miles both alone and with Lomand Roads Cycling Club in the UK and abroad.
Neil had a good quality of life for much of his diagnoses and the disease did not beat him. Sadly the disease is just too persistent and it returned eventually in February 2015 with a vengeance. Again Neil put up the most amazing fight. Sadly Neil passed away on 8th December 2015 and he will be missed every day.
