Story

Thank you for visiting my JustGiving Page in memory of Caryl Moore.

My partner, Caryl Moore, was a passionate supporter and fund raiser for many causes in Nottingham. Her motto was 'get involved' in whatever way possible .... to name but a few, she organised numerous gala and fund raising events at her home, undertook parachute jumps, and ultimately at the age of 73 she did a sky dive.  For many years she helped with organising the Robin Hood marathon; she never actually ran it but completed the course many times on the back of a motor bike! Particularly dear to her heart was Age Concern Carlton and District which she helped set up and chaired for some time, which dedicates itself to improving the lives of the elderly in need in the Nottingham area.

Sadly we lost Caryl earlier this year, so her family and I wish to raise as much money as possible for Age Concern Carlton and District in her memory by completing the Robin Hood half marathon in whatever way possible. This will be a huge challenge for all 5 of us!

Our wish is to start a Caryl Moore Fund for Age Concern Carlton and District which they can use to help make 'Dreams Come True' or 'Special Days' which is something which Caryl had spoken about enthusiastically. The sort of thing we have in mind is 'taking the likes of Violet on a day trip to North Yorkshire to visit her birthplace, something she thinks she will never be able to do', or 'enabling Margaret for the first time to visit the grave of her only brother who was killed in action in France during the war'.

If you’d like to make a donation to Age Concern Carlton & District I’d be very grateful, as it will help them continue their amazing work. Thank you.
