An earthquake with magnitude 6.7 occurred near KATHMANDU, Nepal at 07:09:08.90 UTC on Apr 26, 2015.
The death toll has exceed 4000 and could go as high as 10,000.
Hospitals across the impoverished nation are struggling to cope and a lack of equipment means attempting to find supplies and medicines from shops outside. The poor quality of buildings in the Kathmandu Valley, which has a population of 2.5 million people, makes them susceptible to extensive damage.Thousands of people are braving freezing temperatures and patchy rain to sleep on pavements, in parks or in fields.
