Story
Tim Sanders, James Taylor and Jon Gregson from UK are going to spend fifteen days in Dhading and Gorkha districts of Nepal from November 4th 2015, raising awareness of local support needs for Practical Action who work through local NGOs (i.e. Non Governmental Organisations) in the region. Many people in these districts lost their livelihoods and/or homes as a result of the huge earthquake on April 25th 2015, and now that the media attention has moved elsewhere we want to raise awareness of the ongoing needs of the affected rural communities. We expect to be walking approximately 100 miles through the Himalayan foothills and visiting a number of villages, where we will be meeting the local communities, finding out about existing and new project needs and sharing this back with our supporters. Our journey will also take us to the epicentre of the earthquake.
You can follow our journey via our website www.nepalepicentre.org, which also provides links to our social media communications.
We will be covering all of our own costs for this journey, so any support you can give, through this page, will go directly to supporting Practical Actions work in Nepal in these two districts. Alternatively if you prefer to support the work of United Mission to Nepal (in Dhading district) more information on how to do that is available on our website.
