Hi Everyone! (If donating,please leave your name or intials as I want to sincerely thank each and every one of you) :)
I'm climbing Croagh Patrick (barefoot) next month and every single cent I raise will be donated to The IRC (a global NGO working tirelessly in Syria and beyond to provide essential aid to those struggling to survive the war).
The largest humanitarian crisis since WW2 is currently ongoing in Syria and neighboring countries.
- Approximately 10.8 million normal, innocent people have been forced to flee their homes and leave their lives behind
(That's over TWICE the population of Ireland)
Civilians continue to be the primary victims of the conflict and tragically, it's doesn't look hopeful to end soon.
The International Rescue Committee (founded at Albert Eistein's request) are an outstanding organisation who assist refugees in the following ways;
- provision of emergency shelter, ensuring uninterupted flow of medicines, supplies and equipment
- running classes, counselling and protection services for the children who's youth has been stolen from them
- supplying 1000s of people across refugee camps and beyond with clothing and emergency supplies
- creating safe spaces for women and girls, offering services for survivors of violence, rape and abuse and so on.
More information about The IRC can be found at https://www.rescue.org/country/syria#how-does-the-irc-help-in-syria
PLEASE be as generous as you can be :)
